Borrowing and Lending Changes

PIck-up and Check-out of Materials

Pick-up and check-out of physical materials from the Libraries is currently suspended until further notice. The Libraries are currently closed until further notice per the Denver city ordinance and we do not have physical access to our collections.

Materials Delivery

Deliveries from the Hampden Center storage facility are currently suspended until further notice. We may be able to resume deliveries in the future pending updates from the University and local government officials.

Overdue Fines and Due Dates

We will be waiving overdue fines for material while campus access is limited due to the coronavirus. Fines will be waived once an item is returned after we reopen the Libraries. All book drops are currently closed. Please do not return material to campus until it is safe to do so.

We are extending loan due dates for materials due within the next few weeks. To see what materials you have checked out, go to View Library Account on the library's homepage. If you have any questions about due dates or fines, please contact the Lending Desk at

Interlibrary Loan and Prospector

Due to the large number of libraries that have closed during the pandemic, the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries have temporarily shutdown Prospector. You can still view resources in the catalog, but you won't be able to place requests for items. We are in the process of updating/extending the due dates on all currently checked out Prospector loans.

The borrowing and lending of physical materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan is also currently suspended due to the coronavirus.  Patrons are still able to place interlibrary loan requests for digitized materials (such as journal articles). We are requesting due date extensions for any physical materials checked out by our patrons. For any questions about Prospector or ILL items, please contact our Interlibrary Loan staff at

Please keep in mind that our ability to borrow even electronic materials may be hindered due to the large number of libraries across the United States that have closed.
