Retention Schedule
The University Records Management Program is currently working with units to identify and inventory records at the University in order to compile a schedule of records and their minimum retention. The inventory process will happen in phases, beginning with the large central administrative departments such as the Registrar, Human Resources, and Business and Financial Affairs. The results of the inventories will be used to create retention schedules specific to each department's records.
Retention schedules will be reviewed by University Counsel for compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Once completed, the University Records Retention Schedule will serve as a guide for each department to manage, preserve, and purge their records as appropriate and according to relevant laws, standards, and best practices.
