of the first volume of a diary kept by Louis Anfenger, who was a Denver businessman
and Colorado State legislator, as well as a founder of Congregation Emanuel,
B'nai Brith and the National Jewish Hospital for Consumptives. The first
volume depicts Anfenger's journey from Oswego, N.Y. to Colorado and his marriage
to Louise Schlesinger. Volume 1 of the diary (1870-1872) was transcribed
from the handwritten original by Kathleen Abplanalp in 1999. |
