sturdy travelling trunk made from wood that is covered with treated tan/green
canvas. The trunk is reinforced with wood, leather and metal bracings. This
view shows details on the front. The trunk hasone metal lock and two metal
latches and has two leather straps on the lower part of the trunk that are
meant to buckle. Louis Anfenger used this trunk when he and his family went
to Europe in 1890.(See also Louis Anfenger's diary detailing his trip.) The
lock box has engraved in a circle "Yale & Town, MFG Co, Stamford Conn USA". |
