The "Living Legends of Dance in Colorado" was begun in 2004 to honor those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to dance in Colorado. It came about because of the untimely death of Freidann Parker, co-founder of Colorado Ballet. We realized it was time to preserve the rich dance heritage of Colorado.
In order to preserve the history, an oral history interview is recorded, a transcript of the tape is made, and a notebook with the tape, transcript and photos and memorabilia are placed in Special Collections. In 2008, video interviews were made possible by Penrose Library. Some interviews are available online now; others will follow.
