Library Instruction

Penrose Library advocates library instruction as a means for developing library and information skills to enhance critical thinking and instill lifelong learning. To this end, we offer a variety of tutorials, guides, and course-related instruction for students, faculty and staff. Please take a look at what we have to offer. We’d love to hear from you! If you have questions regarding library instruction, please contact Carrie Forbes (cforbes@du.edu, 303.871.3407) or a subject librarian.

For Faculty

Faculty requests for course-related library instruction
The Library offers many course-related library instruction sessions each quarter, which cover basic and advanced research sources and strategies. These sessions are planned in collaboration with faculty members, so that the instruction is directly relevant to the particular course topics and assignments. Please complete the form and a subject specialist will contact you within 24 hours.

Schedule a library tour
A University library can be a confusing and daunting place for new students. Often a brief walking tour through the library puts students at ease and lays the groundwork for future research classes in the library. Tours work best for new students in their first quarter at DU.
