Create Census Maps with Social Explorer

Monday, May 24th, 2010

With Census 2010 data collection nearing completion, we are all reminded of the value of social statistics. Social Explorer is a Penrose Library database that presents current and historic decennial census data in map and report formats. This is an excellent resource for representing census data visually in reports, for comparisons over time, and for researching social history. You can also find Social Explorer in the Penrose Library database listings. (These are our databases that begin with “S”.  Scroll down till you see Social Explorer.)

This demographic mapping service is based at Queens College of the City University of New York provides interactive census maps from 1940 through 2000.
