Open Access Week

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

This week is Open Access Week.  This global event “is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research.” (Quote is from here.)

What has Penrose done to support this initiative?

Please let us know if you have any questions.

University Park history book

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Steve Fisher, the University Archivist, was the author of the book University Park and South Denver in 2009. If you want your own copy, you could buy the book from Amazon.  However, you can also get it from the Book Store (and even at the Evans Ave. Walgreens) and save on the shipping charges.

The publisher blurb notes that “if you think looking at pictures is a breeze, DU archivist Steve Fisher’s new book of vintage photographs, University Park and South Denver, may prove you wrong. The 120 images Fisher chose for his newly published collection take close scrutiny to fully appreciate the wealth of people, landmarks and historic context.”
