Penrose subscribes to a database called Political Risk Yearbook Online that can help with this. This source also provides a link to the most recent Political Risk Index for 100 countries. To access this resource take the following steps:
1. Go to library.du.edu
2. Click on Databases
3. Click on the letter P
4. When you get the list of databases that begin with P, scroll to Political Risk Yearbook Online and select it.
5. Select the country in which you are interested once you are in the database.
There are other publishers that produce this type of data as well, including Business Monitor International, Country Watch, and IHS. At Penrose Library, Business Source Complete and Proquest Central, subscription-based databases, provide information from these companies. To access the information, take the following steps:
1. Go to library.du.edu
2. Click on Databases
3. Click on the letter B (for Business Source Complete) or P (for Proquest Central)
4. Once you retrieve the list of databases for the letter, scroll to the database you need and click on it.
5. When you are in a database set up the search strategy as follows (if you are in Proquest, use “” around “country risk”):
name of country and country risk
Country risk information is also available in EIU’s Country ViewsWire publication, which is available through Business Insights: Essentials. To access this database take the same steps above, but instead of selecting Business Source Complete, choose Business Insights: Essentials. Use the following search strategy (with quotes):
name of country and “country risk”
