  Historical Statistics of the United States

HSUS is the standard source for the quantitative facts of American history. It updates the government document Historical statistics of the United States, colonial times to 1970. Tables are downloadable in Excel or CSV formats, and it is possible to create custom tables. Areas of coverage include population, work and welfare, economic structure and performance, economic sectors, and governance and international relations.

Browser requirements:
1) Historical Statistics is optimized to work on the latest version of IE (6+) on a PC, 5+, and for Safari on a Mac. Firefox and other major browsers can also be used.
2) Pop-ups and JavaScript should be enabled. Session cookies should be allowed.
3) Browser security settings should be on Medium or lower. Settings that disable scripting will cause a problem with the site's functionality.

A product of the Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security, this database is a portal to material that can be found in other databases (Congressional Research Service reports, GAO reports and testimony, DTIC documents, RAND publications) as well as materials not easily located in other places, such as thesis from the Naval Postgraduate School. Material is organized using a unique homeland security taxonomy.

The bibliographic database of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development contains over 10,000 abstract citations to research reports, articles, books, monographs, and data sources in housing policy, building technology, economic development, urban planning, and a host of other relevant fields.
