The web version of State Electricity Profiles (SEP) 1996 has been revised to reflect changes in emissions
data and rankings. In the initial version, emissions estimates were based on fuel consumption data. This
methodology overestimated emissions attributable to electricity generation as nonutility fuel consumption
may not be completely associated with electricity generation. The current emissions estimates have been
