  ICPSR Direct: Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), established in 1962, is an integral part of the infrastructure of social science research. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction. Data files can be imported into SPSS, SAS, or other statisical programs. Help is available on their Web site. Special tutorials can be arranged by contacting the University of Denver liaison to ICPSR, Chris Brown at cbrown@du.edu.   Image Commons

The Image Commons provides access to images available to current faculty, students, and staff at the University of Denver to use for educational purposes. Images include paintings, sculpture, architecture, photographs, maps, and more, from around the world and from prehistoric times to the present. These images may be used in DU papers and presentations, but may not be made available on the Web nor used in publications without the consent of the copyright holder. When using an image, always cite the source of the image. If you need help with finding images, contact the Penrose Library Research Center.

Indexes literature on Islam, the Middle East and the Muslim world. Over 2,000 journals are monitored for inclusion in the database, together with conference proceedings, monographs, multi-authored works and book reviews.

  International Bibliography of the Social Sciences

The International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS), produced by the London School of Economics and Political Science, includes over 2.5 million references to journal articles, books, reviews and selected chapters dating back to 1951. IBSS focuses mainly on the four core social science disciplines - anthropology, economics, politics and sociology - but it also covers a range of interdisciplinary subjects, such as development studies, human geography and environment and gender studies.

Our subscription does not cover Balance of Payments Yearbook, Direction of Trade Statistics Yearbook, or Government Finance Statistics Yearbook.

The product can browsed by country or by variable, and can also be searched. Areas of statistical coverage include exchange rates; fund accounts; interest rates; international liquidity; international transactions (imports and exports); balance of payments; money and banking; government finance; prices, production, and labor; and national accounts. IMF press briefings, press conferences, official IMF statements, and many other documents are also available through the service.

  ISN: International Relations and Security Network

Based at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETHZ), ISN is a rich resource for primary and secondary resources on all areas of international relations including human rights, international organizations, human security, foreign relations, diplomacy, security policy, terrorism, and many other topics. Secondary sources include policy briefs, research reports, gray literature, case studies, and occasional journal articles and book excerpts. Primary resources include treaties, constitutions of the world, speeches, and government documents with a surprising historical breadth. The Current Affairs - Events section provides a useful timeline view of world events by subject area.

  Italian Women Writers

"The Italian Women Writers project (IWW) is a long-term research endeavor to preserve and provide access to an extensive corpus of literature written by Italian women authors. Our goal is to bring information on and texts by both famous and previously neglected Italian women writers to a wider audience of students, scholars, teachers, and the general public, and to preserve these often fragile texts for generations to come.

IWW includes authors from the 13th century up to authors born in 1945. The following types of works will be included: anthologies, articles and essays, autobiographies, biographies, children's literature, devotional works, dialogues, diaries, dramas, epics, hagiographies, histories and chronicles, interviews and conversations, letters, memoirs, novels, operas, poems, reviews, short stories, and travel literature.
